Photovoice - Cohort 1

The first photovoice cohort consisted of 9 Latinx student co-researchers. Mariposas con Voces, or "Butterflies with Voices" was chosen as their team's name as butterflies are a metaphor representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope and life.

As a result of a photovoice process they identified 8 themes regarding how they define Latinx student success and how Sac State, as their HSI, can serve them.

Survey

Drawing from the themes from each cohort, our research team collectively developed a survey which aims to see how our themes generalize to Latinx undergraduate students at Sac State. Moreover, this survey will provide a deeper look into the role that HSIs can play in serving Latinx students.
